President and Chief Operating OfficerMr. Starkey was also one of the founding programmers of the HMS system. In 1998, he left to help several other healthcare companies before re-joining HMS in 2005 as Vice President of Research and Development. Now, as Preisdent, he oversees and manages all daily HMS operations,including Product Development, Programming, Quality Assurance, Customer Support Services, Documentation, Implementation, Education and Consulting Services. Steve served as Director of Information Systems at Community Health Systems, CIO at Behavioral Healthcare Corporation and CIO at Ardent Health before returning to HMS.
Chief Information OfficerGeoff Roten, Chief Information Officer, oversees the development and growth of HMS hosting and managed services. Roten has 20 years' experience in the healthcare industry, including service in leadership roles at Ardent Health Services, Province Healthcare, Community Health Systems and as managing partner of NorthStar Technology Consulting, LLC. Roten also is responsible for providing strategic direction to internal systems and infrastructure management across all companies owned by HealthTech, parent company of HMS, MEDHOST and Patient Logic.
Vice President, Product DevelopmentRick Brown joined HMS in 1990 as a programmer. Currently the Vice President of Product Development, he is responsible for programming and software support and works across organizational boundaries to drive a "customer first" focus throughout the company. Rick led the clinical development team through the creation of HMS’ advanced clinical products and ensured their certification under CCHIT, an independent certifying organization that warrants the functionality and operability of hospital information systems.
Vice President, Professional ServicesRandall Cothron joined HMS in 1991 as Director of Client Services. As Vice President of Professional Services, Cothron helps hospitals manage business office operations such as accounts receivables management during and after implementation of HMS systems. In 2010, Randall formed Sentry Healthcare Services, then a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS, to support non-HMS hospitals. Prior to joining HMS, he was a District Assistant Vice President with Quorum Health Resources. During his tenure with Quorum, Randall held the position of Chief Financial Officer at several managed hospitals.
Vice President, Client ServicesStan Gilbreath, Vice President, Client Services, joined the company in 2012 and is responsible for the oversight of all client service activity for both HMS and MEDHOST. Gilbreath has more than 25 years of technology and software experience; he joins HealthTech from Allscripts, where he led the company’s professional services division. Previously, Gilbreath spent nearly 10 years with McKesson.
Vice President, Customer SupportTodd Redmon, Vice President of Customer Support, joined HMS in 2010. Redmon is responsible for the company's customer support centers, as well as strategic initiatives to enhance customer loyalty and improve efficiency and the customer experience. Previously, he held a series of leadership positions in operations, manufacturing and support over a period of 10 years with Dell. Most recently, he was responsible for a 500-employee call center serving global commercial services with technical support and solutions via phone/chat/email for multiple hardware, software and network customer needs in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Redmon also manages support for all operating companies owned by HealthTech, parent company of HMS, MEDHOST and Patient Logic.
Vice President, Human ResourcesCarla Stephenson, Vice President, Human Resources, joined HMS in 2005. Prior to HMS, Stephenson spent five years as the HR Director for 180 Connect and six years as the Area Manager for Spherion Staffing Services. Stephenson also manages human resources for all operating companies owned by HealthTech, parent company of HMS, MEDHOST and Patient Logic.
