CPOE
HMS Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) streamlines the order process
and increases patient safety by reducing medication and legibility errors. The
system is a browser-based application allowing physicians access to real-time
results during order entry. Physicians are able to place orders from their
office, home or anywhere a secured connection exists.
Features & Benefits The HMS CPOE Solution, embedded
within Clinical
View, utilizes order sets to allow physician preferences and best practices,
as well as regulatory and hospital standards, to be met. Pre-selected orders,
physician-specific order sets and favorite order sets streamline the order
process. These order sets may include all types of orders: nursing, ancillary,
medication, etc. Physicians are able to select an entire group of orders for a
patient from a set with one click, and may add individual orders by an easy
point-and-click method. Our flexible format allows clinicians to add, modify and
delete orders throughout the ordering session. CPOE provides a comprehensive
level of order decision support that includes (but is not limited to) allergy
checking, duplicate therapy and drug-drug interaction checking. Medical
Necessity checking is available for outpatient orders.
