The HMS Materials Management point of use system allows a nurse to easily issue items to patients from a friendly touch screen environment. The nurse simply touches the screen for the room/patient that the item is being issued to, and then scans the item on the shelf label. The button on the screen displays the room number along with the patient's name.

In this easy two-step process, the nurse has performed a charge for the patient if a chargeable item and decrements the on-hand inventory value of the item in real-time. After the transaction has taken place, materials management personnel can look at the inventory value and see exactly what is on the shelf.

HMS has also coupled touch screen technology to provide a simple, convenient method of time entry. Used in conjunction with a magnetic stripe, infered, visable red or RFID badge reader you can collect information without deploying special equipment. In addition, touch screen technology allows for a more "modern" experience for your employees than a wall mounted badge reader.
