The Rehabilitation solution, developed for use by rehabilitation facilities, is an online, integrated information management system combining financial and clinical data processing.

This solution features:

Intake. The solution can assemble a patient's admission record by capturing pre-admission information from the initial patient contact. It also allows pre-approval and/or treatment authorization and updates a patient's financial information.

Referral Management. The system streamlines referral management by providing demographic data for patient mix analysis. Users can easily view admissions statistics, including revenue, bad debts and contractual adjustments. The solution automatically generates patient-specific letters and documents all contacts made to a referral source, as well as provides a tickler file for referral follow-up. It also tracks and documents all sales and marketing activities.

Patient Accounting. The interactive system allows for online admissions, registrations, discharges and transfers, and it accommodates inpatient, outpatient, day programs and aftercare. An alpha search capability can find patients' and guarantors' previous activity in a snap. The solution handles a variety of charging approaches, including per diem, room and board, direct charging and multi-tier pricing. It also prints all major claims forms and accommodates electronic claims. Collections follow-up is made easier with the system's automated tickler file, notes, reports and collection letters.

Health Information Management. The solution features interactive patient abstracting and provides rehab-specific fields for tracking pre-hospital disposition, post-hospital disposition and vocational goals. Uniform Data System (UDS) groups and codes linked to specific diagnosis codes produce appropriate Functional Related Groups (FRG) assigned to patients.

Treatment Plans. The solution allows a user to identify standard treatment methodologies, as well as individualize a patient's treatment plans.

Scheduling. A flexible scheduling feature allows a user to view individual schedules by day or in five- to seven-day periods. A user can schedule events with specific descriptions, timeframes and charging methodology. Group session scheduling is also available.

Progress Notes/Automatic Charging. The system reduces cumbersome paperwork, lost charges and lost progress notes. A user can enter free-form or predefined progress notes, information which is immediately available facility-wide for those with proper security clearance. The system also automatically generates charges for appropriate procedures.

Financial Management. The solution integrates several of HMS's Financial Management solutions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll/Human Resources.
